In 2013 they ventured into film production and produced the Marathi movie, Rangkarmi. Their shows such as Diya Aur Baati Hum, Sajan Ghar Jaana Hai, Dream Girl - Ek Ladki Deewani Si, Tum Hi Ho Bandhu Sakha Tumhi, Main Lakshmi Tere Aangan Ki, Punar Vivah and Punar Vivah - Ek Nayi Umeed remained highly successful and received high TRP ratings too. In fact the couple made their dentity first as writers, with popular Hindi television shows like Sinndoor, Woh Rehnewali Mehlo Ki, Betiyan etc before they forayed into serial production. Shashi also writes scripts for their television productions, an interest she developed only after marriage. Sumeet Hukamchand Mittal serves as the founder director of this production house, while Shashi is the co-founder and director. The couple together started the film production house, Shashi Sumeet Productions in 2009. She married Sumeet Hukamchand Mittal, who was then known as a writer and director of the industry. Her childhood and youth days were spent in Ahmedabad, where she completed her schooling and graduation. Shashi Mittal was born on Main Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Shashi Sumeet Productions currently produces the shows - Dil Se Dil Tak for Colour TV, Tu Sooraj, Main Saanjh Piyaji for Star Plus, Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai and Rishta Likhenge Hum Naya for SET India, and all these shows were premiered in the year 2017.
